Dr. Panagiotis Chatzikostas
Dr. Panayiotis Hadjicostas, MD, PhD, is a General Surgeon and Surgical ICU Specialist and Clinical Professor of Surgery at the University of Nicosia Medical School. He has 23 years of experience in the Cyprus Ministry of Health at Nicosia General Hospital and Larnaca General Hospital, serving as Director/Chairman of the Department of Surgery. He pioneered the establishment of Liver and Pancreas Surgery in Cyprus and was one of the two surgeons who performed the first Pancreatic Resection in Cyprus (Whipples’ procedure for pancreatic cancer in 1992). He developed the Liver Tumor Destruction Program (Radiofrequency Ablation-RFA) nationally from 2004 to 2012. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Society of Surgical Oncology.
