Dr. Nikolaos Zamboglou
About Professor Nikolaos Zamboglou is a world-renowned Radiation Oncologist, the Founder and Medical Director of the German Oncology Center in Limassol, Cyprus, and one of the leading pioneers in interventional radiotherapy and brachytherapy globally. Born in Limassol in 1949, he studied Physics in Germany on a DAAD scholarship and holds two PhDs — one in Physics and one in Medicine. He served as Head of the Department of Radiation Oncology at Offenbach Hospital (Teaching Hospital of Goethe University Frankfurt) for 24 years, trained physicians from over 120 international medical institutions, and has treated more than 15,000 patients using his advanced brachytherapy methods. He has approximately 1,200 scientific citations, authored or edited 7 books and 23 book chapters, and received 12 major international awards including the prestigious Strebel Medal for Brachytherapy and the 2024 Knight’s Cross (Ritterkreuz).
