Dr. Alexis Vrachimis
Dr. Alexis Vrachimis is an Associate Professor and Director of the Department of Nuclear Medicine at the German Medical Institute in Limassol — home to the first and only cyclotron and PET/CT in Cyprus. Born in Nicosia in 1984, he trained and worked at leading university hospitals in Greece and Germany before returning to Cyprus with a mission: to bring world-class molecular imaging and theranostics to Cypriot patients, eliminating the need to travel abroad for these critical services. He holds a Habilitation (Venia Legendi) from the University of Münster and a Professorship from the European University of Cyprus. Since June 2017, he has been part of the GMI medical team led by Prof. Zamboglou. He is Secretary/Treasurer of the European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM) and has over 62 publications in top international peer-reviewed journals.
