Dr Anastasia Vernardou
Dr. Anastasia Vernadou, MD is a Consultant Medical Oncologist at the Third Medical Oncology Clinic of HYGEIA Hospital in Athens, where she has practised since 2021. She specialises in the medical management of patients with solid tumours, with a particular interest in breast cancer, gynaecological oncology and neuro-oncology, and provides palliative and supportive care.
She graduated from the School of Medicine of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (2010), trained in Internal Medicine at Sismanoglio General Hospital of Attica, and completed her Medical Oncology training at Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV), Switzerland (2018–2020). She has completed advanced postgraduate programmes in gynaecological cancers (CAS-Gyn, European School of Oncology), neuro-oncology (EANO School of Neuro-Oncology) and palliative care (University of Athens).
She has authored peer-reviewed publications, including work on CNS tumours harbouring NTRK gene fusions and on real-world outcomes of abemaciclib in breast cancer, and has presented at international congresses including ASCO, EANO, SNO, ESGO and EBCC. She is a member of ASCO, ESMO, EANO, SNO and the EORTC Brain Tumour and Breast Cancer Groups. She speaks Greek, English and French.
