Dr. Guido Frassetto
Dr. Guido Frassetto is a specialist Cardiac Surgeon who joined the GMI cardiac team in April 2022. Born in Italy, he graduated from the University of Sassari in Medicine and Surgery (2003) and completed his residency in Cardiovascular Surgery at University Hospital Maggiore of Parma. In 2007 he obtained a fellowship in minimally invasive and heart failure surgery at Leiden University Medical Centre (LUMC) in the Netherlands. He completed his training in 2008 achieving the title of Specialist in Cardiac Surgery with 50/50 with Honours. He subsequently built a career across leading UK cardiac centres — St Georges University Hospital London, Brighton and Sussex University Hospital, and Hull and East Yorkshire University Hospital — accumulating over 18 years of experience in Cardiac Surgery and Cardiac Intensive Care.
