General Surgery

Dr. Michail Feretis is a General Surgeon specialising in Hepatobiliary (HPB), Pancreatic, and Liver Transplant Surgery. He qualified from the University of Aberdeen (MBChB, 2007) and completed his surgical training entirely in the UK, gaining entry onto the UK Specialist Register as a General Surgeon in 2022 (FRCSEd). He spent three years of his Higher Surgical Training in hepatobiliary and liver transplant surgery at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge — one of the UK’s leading HPB centres — where he was also affiliated with Cancer Research UK (CRUK) conducting basic science research on pancreatic cancer immunology. He subsequently completed advanced fellowships in pancreatic and liver surgery at major HPB centres in Basingstoke and the internationally renowned Queen Elizabeth Liver Unit in Birmingham. He has 25+ peer-reviewed publications, has been awarded £10,000 in research grants from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and has won multiple national and international prizes including Best Paper at the European Pancreatic Club. He is a journal reviewer for BMJ Gastroenterology, World Journal of Surgery, and Langenbeck’s Archives of Surgery.
